I am the Lead Teacher!
My journey into the heart of education wasn’t just a career choice; it was a calling that whispered to me through the echoes of bustling hallways and the silent anticipation of empty classrooms awaiting the spark of learning.
Like many of you, I’ve navigated the turbulent waters of beginning a teaching career.
I remember the days when lunch breaks were spent scrolling through social media, only to be disheartened by the lack of respect for our profession. The negative stereotypes and undervaluation of teachers weighed heavily on my heart, fueling a desire for change.
The challenges didn’t end there. The quest for effective mentorship often felt like searching for a beacon in the fog—so close yet elusive. The isolation, the overwhelming paperwork, and the craving for recognition and support became familiar companions on my journey.
There were nights I lay awake, wrestling with doubts and fears, wondering if the path of teaching was a road to nowhere.
But amidst the trials, a fire was kindled—a fire to make a difference, not just in the lives of students, but in the hearts of teachers embarking on this noble journey.
With over 30 years of experience in a diverse array of educational settings, from K-12 in Australian government schools to international schools, universities and early childhood centres, I’ve worn the many hats of an educator.
My teaching and leading across seven countries have enriched my perspective, allowing me to mentor and coach with empathy and insight.
I am proud to hold lead accreditation within NSW (NESA), national certification at the lead level with AITSL, and to be a qualified external assessor of the highly accomplished and lead levels for NESA.
These qualifications are not just titles; they are testaments to my commitment to excellence in education and my dedication to supporting teachers like you.
